The locality and beyond...

L'Aide Frechu is in the district of St Jean du Corail. It stands near to the main D907 to Mortain, which is the closest small town, in the Department of Manche, Normandy.

Mortain has a range of shops and banks, a tourist office, doctor, post office and an open air swimming pool. It also has two supermarkets and a weekly street market. There are two waterfalls to visit, an ancient abbey, a tiny cliff-top chapel, WW2 historic sites and a karting centre.

You will find a wealth of walking and cycling opportunties. The former railway line has been converted to a safe walking/cyling track and the local tourist office provides details of many touristic opportunities.

The market town of St Hilaire du Harcouet is only fifteen minutes away. Here there is a greater range of shops and facilities and a thriving weekly market.

Domfront, a medieval hillside town, is also just a short drive away and provides an interesting half-day visit.

To the west lies a beautiful coastline with holiday resorts such as Granville, St Malo and Dinard and the world famous Mont St Michel.

To the north are the Normandy landing beaches, the Bayeux tapestry and World War II historical sites.

To the south and west lies Brittany and the Loire Valley and to the east more joys of Normandy.
